The sharks vs. the seals
The theory that rape culture doesn't exist inside media is an outdated ideology. The examination of media within rape culture has numerous examples of this behavior that normalizes rape jokes, catcalling, molestation, drugging and rape. I will pull examples from many categories of media, like the TV show on HBO called Game of Thrones, and a film titled, Love Actually all show a from of rape culture. Lastly, I will call on the porn industry, a majority of the porn websites all share sex between two adults, but what I will talk about is the molestation, and rape porn. With these media examples and scholarly articles will help create a link between media and rape culture.

Politics within Social Media
The Handmaid’s Tale which was made for TV in 2017, created by Bruce Miller, uses current political situations which gives its viewers a sense of anxiety when thinking about the current state of politics in America. The reason for this research to be conducted is for people who do not see a connection between current politics and this television show. With every show, there is media that circulates it. I have seen many posts, on Twitter and Facebook that talk about the show but I wanted to see if other people were making a connection between current politics and The Handmaid’s Tale and if they do recognize the connection, are people talking about it?
